SPRING NAIL EDIT

I am in a nail polish appreciation mood at the moment. I can’t get enough of them! Maybe is because my nails are in quite good shape, maybe is because of the wonderful colours and collections that are out at the moment, or most probably, a combination of the two. Here are my faves!

The Shade Selection

SPRING NAIL EDIT

The Blues: The biggest surprise for me this spring has been my new found love for blue nail polish. This new shades of blue have my heart! They are the perfect hybrid between a pastel and a bright shade of blue (klein or royal for the colour connaisseurs). They match the sky, the sea, the swimming pools… My two favourites are Revlon 733 Irresistible (it truly is!) and Sally Hansen 362 In Full Blue-m.

The Lilacs: As far as spring style goes, little things make me more happy than pretty lilac nails. I think they have a bit of an edge compared to the traditional light pink nails but they are still as girly, fresh and versatile. Choose a formula and a shade that you feel comfortable with and you will never look back, trust me! My two loves of the moment are OPI I’m Gown for Anything! from their Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection and Sally Hansen 365 What in Carnation?.

The Nudes: Nude manicures go never out of style. A cold glass of rosé and a nice shade of nude nail polish go as nicely together as tomato and basil on sunny days! (I could really do with a summer vacation right now…).  I am a bit picky with my nudes as I like them to be easy to apply, opaque and a shade that is not too warm nor too cold. ESSIE has a great selection of nude polish. My two faves of the moment are 963 Cabana Boy and 667 Cocktails & Coconuts. I think Essie had also summer vacations in mind when she made these shades 🙂

The Dusty Mauves: I think dusty mauve is a good transition shade going from winter into spring and summer. I have the feeling that the array of shades available at the moment will not last long. We need to take advantage of the 90’s browney-mauvey trend before is gone! I am already in panic mode as I love them so much. Sally Hansen has many different options available in this colour range but my two choices would be 331 Brown Nose and 280 Plum’s the Word.
