I have two favourite foundations of all time: Vitalumiere Aqua and Perfection Lumiere Velvet. I’ve been endlessly buying, trying and experimenting with other foundations and nothing has gotten close to equal or overtake my two beloved CHANEL ones. Well.. insert here DIOR Diorskin FOREVER foundation and lots of heart eyes emojis.
DIOR has recently relaunched DIORSKIN FOREVER Foundation and let me tell you in one word: AMAZING!
I picked it up at Sephora about a month ago and I am so so glad I did! I haven’t been able to put it down.
I never tried the original one so sadly I can’t make a comparison with that one, although who cares? This one is so amazing that I guess nobody will remember the old one.
As you can see in the pictures this foundation comes in a beautiful sleek frosted glass bottle. It feels heavy and luxurious. The pump works very well and if you like a lighter base one pump will be enough for the whole face. I usually use a pump and a half.
This foundation comes in 16 shades (according to DIOR’s own website) from 010 Ivory (fair with yellow undertones) to 080 Ebony (deep chocolate shade). I found my perfect match with 020 Light Beige. This shade in particular has a peachy-neutral undertone (very similar if not the exact same shade as CHANEL 20 Beige). Other shades I tried: 010 is lighter and more yellow, 021 is a light-medium shade with yellow undertones (I also have this shade and will use it when I am a bit more tan), 022 is light with pink undertones. If you are in the medium shades range try to see swatches or get a sample, as they all look similar but have very different undertones.
DIOR FOREVER is described by the brand as a luminous matte foundation and I agree. It looks lovely, radiant and velvety on the skin. The formula has shine control technology and SPF 35 PA+++. It blends effortlessly into the skin giving a blurring effect that I love. It has a solid medium coverage and is imperceptible on the skin. On DIOR’s website they say it wears flawlessly for up to 16 hours. I haven’t worn it for that long but I can confirm that this foundation looks flawless on me all day long. It’s a good one to carry on vacation for those long days of walking and exploring.
To be completely honest, even if I remained hopeful, I never thought I would find a foundation like this one. Like a mix between Perfection Lumiere Velvet and Vitalumiere Aqua but with more coverage, long lasting, with blurring and perfecting technology, and invisible on the skin.
As you might be able to tell I have only good things to say about this foundation. Well… the price is scary and more shades are always welcome.
I have applied it with my fingers, the beauty blender and different brushes, but my favourite way to apply it is with the DIOR Fluid Foundation Brush – Light Coverage. I’ve had this brush for years and is in perfect shape after travelling with it and washing it sooo many times. I can recommend it if you enjoy applying your foundation with a flat brush. I think this one is the best of the bunch.
Have you tried this foundation and what are your thoughts on it? Any other amazing DIOR foundation that I’m missing out on?
