The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful display in my local ULTA store. Very luminous, well presented and clean. Very pretty and tempting!
I was captivated right away by the extensiveness of the line and the lovely colour palette for eyeshadows, blushes and lip products. Everything feels very well thought through. There is variety but it’s also well edited.
I personally love the whole aesthetic of the brand. It’s sleek and modern. The deep purple packaging is gorgeous and overall the products have an expensive feel to them, they even have a magnetic closure. How chic is that?
The price point is great so I didn’t hesitate to get a couple of things to try out. Obviously, the first product that I gravitated towards to was the eyeshadow quads. I picked up Topanga.
Topanga is composed of three satin shadows and one matte (top right of the quad). The bottom left shadow is a champagne-vanilla colour (it might look slightly peachy on the pan but is not at all peach on the skin), beautiful all over the lid or as an accent illuminating shade. Top left is my favourite shadow of the quad, a muted mauve-taupe shade that looks gorgeous on its own, but it can also be worn on the crease or on the mobile lid. I think is a versatile and dimensional shadow. Top right is a matte deep brown shade that is great for adding depth to any eye look. Last but not least, bottom right is a beautiful satin bronze-cranberry shade, very unique!
Overall, I like this palette very much. I think is good value for money ($28.00 for 0.17 oz). Shadows perform well, although with some fallout. The colours are lovely and versatile. I’m glad I picked this quad up, it makes a good addition to my collection and I can see myself taking it with me when I travel. I think I will pick up the Canyon quad next (warm bronze shades).
As the name indicates, this blush provides an actual soft veil of colour to the cheeks. Nothing too intense here just a lovely and subtle wash of colour that can be build up. Valley is a soft muted peach colour with a hint of pink and brown running through it. On ULTA’s website they say is dusty rose… Maybe, but not tawny at all. Valley is a fresh colour that is perfect for spring (to me it feels like a more peachy warm version of Benefit’s Dandelion).
The blush blends well and looks lovely and fresh on the skin, it gives me a healthy look. Be aware that this particular colour is very subtle so I don’t think this will show up on medium to tan skin tones. I chose Valley because I wanted a very light and bright blush for spring, and on my light-medium skin it shows up just nicely.
Fiona Stiles has five other shades in the collection so I think there will be something for everybody. A bright peony pink one (Pomander Walk), an apricot-coral (Lex), a deep raisin (Imperial), a warm neutral pink (Maiden Lane), and a light cool pink (Sweetwater). All tempting! Price is $20 for 0.16oz.
I really enjoy wearing both products I picked up and will definitely try more products from the brand in the futur. I am eyeing the Canyon eyeshadow quad, a couple of lipsticks and maybe even a foundation!
Have you already tried something from the brand? Thoughts?
Have a lovely week everybody!
