NARS Long Hot Summer is a small and compact palette that comes in the usual sleek and rubbery NARS packaging. It holds six eye shadows, three cold tone shadows (upper row) and three warm tone shadows (lower row). Two mattes (right) and four shimmers. Each shadow has 0.03 Oz. of product (1g) x 6. It retails for $45.
Left to right (pic above):
Bengali is deep warm chocolate brown shade with a matte finish
Long Hot Summer IV is a warm nude rose gold shade with a shimmery satin finish
Long Hot Summer III is a warm peach-copper shade with a shimmery satin finish
Bellissima II is medium cold tone taupe shade with a matte finish
Long Hot Summer II is a medium taupe-mauve shade with a shimmery satin finish
Long Hot Summer I is a light pink-champagne shade with a shimmery satin finish
They are all pretty much your standard NARS shadows. Pigmented, super soft and blend beautifully together. I love that there is a mix of cold and warm shadows as they allow you to create an array of different eye looks.
I think this palette will truly suit everybody! Green eyes will pop with the mauve shades, blue eyes will stand out with the more copper shades, brown and black eyes will complement all of them nicely. If you like a more natural look you can use just one or two of the lightest shadows and if you want more drama you can create a summery-smokey look with Bengali and some shimmers for example.
As soon as I saw this palette online I knew I had to pick it up and I’m so happy I did! Long Hot Summer is one of the most versatile, compact (great for travelling and on the go) and useful palettes that have been launched this summer!
I’ve created a couple of looks with it and I’m super happy with the results. I’m particularly in love with the two medium shades of the palette, Long Hot Summer II and Long Hot Summer IV.
I can’t wait to take it with me travelling!
