As you read this lines I should have landed in New York City! This is my first time visiting New York and the levels of excitement are incredibly high! I basically grew up watching Friends and Sex & The City people! Ok, now I have to stop using so many exclamation points. Although the thought of me wandering around the streets of the West Village make me go all AAAAH!!!!! (Insert all sorts of excited and dancing emojis here).
So! I’ve collected myself to finally show you what I’ve decided to carry with me to my one week stay in New York. Everything fits in a reasonably sized makeup bag that I recently got for 7 dollars from Forever 21. It’s striped bright pink and white canvas with a gold zipper, I love it!
In here I have: Dior Forever Foundation for my base because it’s simply the best long-lasting foundation I own. To set that up, specially because I will be walking around all day, I’ll use MAC’s Blot Powder. Then to add a bit of colour to my cheeks I’ll bring two options, the peachy one is Fiona Stiles blush in Valley, the rosey option is Hourglass Mood Exposure. Then, just in case I want to add a bit of glow, I will be taking MAC’s Cream Colour Base in Hush. For the eyes I bring lots of stuff because that’s my thing. I don’t do any eye look without my trusted and beloved NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. Then for colour, I’ll bring my MAC custom palette (Patina, Saddle, Soba and Mulch), and just because is new and I have enough space, I’ll also be taking with me Laura Mercier’s Extreme Neutrals eyeshadow palette. Three eyeliners are also coming with me. CHANEL’s Erable and Ardent, and Lancome’s brown liquid Artliner in case I want some drama for the evenings. An extra thing I’m taking with me in case I get ‘eye lazy’ is MAC’s Paint Pot in Groundwork. Probably the only eye product you need for some lid colour when travelling. For my brows, I’m taking Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Clear Brow Gel and Laura Mercier’s Eye Brow Pencil in Ash Blonde. The two mascaras that made the cut are Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume and YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof, the later I’m taking because I need to finish it up and I think is a good one for the bottom lashes. My concealers of choice for travelling are L’Oreal True Match Super-blendable Concealer and By Terry Touch-Expert Advanced Ultra-radiance Active Concealer, both easy to blend and performing. Last but not least, I have a single MAC lipstick in here, my recently purchased Jubilee (a great hydrating neutral nude). I have more lip products in my little makeup pouch that lives in my handbag. If you want to have a pick inside that one, click here.
Voila! Everything fits perfectly in there and I might also have a bit of space for some eventual new acquisitions. Let’s do this New York!
