May has arrived to an end and it’s time to gather together the bits and pieces that have got me excited all along the month.
I’ve been trying lots of different things this month and switched up foundation and what not several times, mainly for research purposes 😉 So on those days where I wanted to keep everything flawless, simple and just working, I went for my trusted classic favourites.
I keep coming back to my beloved and trusted CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation (B20), is my perfect everyday base. Perfecting, light and almost invisible on the skin. To make things even more flawless and long-lasting I set everything with the Natural Finish Pressed Powder from CHANEL as well. Is just this month that I realised how much I really love this powder.
Another brand that I absolutely loved during May is Charlotte Tilbury. Her Legendary Lashes Mascara and Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria have been the best discoveries of the month in the makeup department. Very Victoria is matte but soft and comfortable to wear and the shade truly is my perfect nude. Legendary Lashes gives gorgeous big, voluminous and glossy black lashes. Although I don’t use it on the bottom lashes or I end up looking like a Panda.
In May I also came to the realisation of how much I actually love MAC’s Amber Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette. It’s the perfect compact and small eyeshadow palette for neutral lovers. You have the shimmers, the mattes, the transition shade, the dark browns for smoking things up. If you love MAC shadows and you want one small palette to do it all, this one is your best bet.
For brows, the only brand that I used for years is Laura Mercier but this Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer (Taupe) that I picked up recently is really doing the job nicely. This is the only brow product I’ve been using lately. Easy to use, pigmented and they have so many different shades. Highly recommend!
At the beginning of May I picked up a couple of NUDE skincare products from Sephora as they are having a sale on the brand at the moment (I think they are slowly discontinuing the brand, sadly!). I’ve been using NUDE Advanced Renewal Serum and NUDE Purify Balancing Moisturizer with Omega 3 & 6, Hyaluronic Acid and Ginger. Both products are absolutely beautiful! They contain great ingredients and my skin is looking clear and plumped thanks to them. You should really invest in some NUDE products before they are all gone from Sephora. Although, where can we repurchase them from? I’ll do my research and report back!
The one and only BEIGE de CHANEL from their Les Exclusifs Collection has been my security cashmere blanket all along May. I am so sad my bottle is almost finished!
The brand says ‘An elusive colour with infinite variations, beige may seem quite ordinary. And yet, behind this apparent simplicity, it hides a discreet sensuality that builds slowly before revealing itself fully. This sensual outburst is interpreted by Jacques Polge through a bouquet of Hawthorn, Freesia and Frangipani, with shimmering hints of honey. A stunning blend of white petals and yellow gold…in other words, a breath of beige’.
I say, quite simply, a big warm hug of white flowers and golden sun in a bottle. Beige is a warm, powdery, solar and feminine fragrance. If you like the scent of Parma Violets or Insolence de Guerlain you might enjoy this softer and warmer version of sweet powdery florals.
How was your May? Any favourites that stood out?
Summer is just around the corner friends!
Happy June! X
