This month we welcomed summer and my June favourites reflect just that!
The search for a glowy, clear and soothed complexion along with some warm bronzey tones to bright things up!
Let’s start with brushes! I have three major favourites this month. The Real Techniques Sculpting Brush has been a very pleasant surprise! I actually didn’t expect to like it this much. It is brilliant to apply thicker foundations, cream blushes and bronzers.
Another gem from the same brand is the Real Techniques Bold Metals 203 Tapered Shadow Brush. This one is a very soft and fluffy brush that blends eyeshadow like a dream.
My third favourite brush of the month is the Sephora Collection PRO Tapered Crease Brush #19. Bigger than the RT 203, it allows you to do a swipe of shadow in two seconds! The quickest way to do an eye look.
The Solid Blender Cleanser is one of those classic purchases that I thought I didn’t need but I use all the time. It works like a charm! It cleanses the Beauty Blender like no other and it also cleanses my eye brushes in one swirl. It is very compact so great for travelling or for your work makeup kit. Win, win!
In the makeup department, it’s been all about the glow! Two very affordable and light-inducing powders that I’ve been loving are the NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic and the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer. Both powders are soft, pigmented and performing! Love them!
Eyes are my thing. Very few makeup items make me more happy than a beautiful and versatile eyeshadow palette and some solid singles that will help us create a gorgeous look on the go! The big favourites of the month are MAC Paint Pots in Groundwork (taupe-brown matte shade) and Indianwood (antique gold-bronze shimmery shade).
The palette that will be in my makeup bag during my whole summer holiday is CHANEL Empreinte du Desert Quad (link to swatches and review). Perfect summer quad for those of you who love bronze, copper and gold shimmery shadows.
As for skincare, these three favourites of the month have kept my skin clear, radiant and hydrated even when the sun has been trying to cause some damage to my very sensitive cheeks.
Dead Sea Essentials by AHAVA Soothing Chamomile Mud Mask is a wonderful clarifying and detoxifying mask for every skin type and specially for those with sensitive skin, dryness or dehydration issues. Very gentle, it doesn’t dry up my skin but keep things looking clear and soothed. It’s also cheaper than other fancy offers in the market.
REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate is a good old favourite of mine that I’ve been consistently using lately. A great acid step in my routine! Apparently, it has been replaced by the REN Radiance Perfecting Serum which is good news because the AHAs are already mixed in with some hydrating and nourishing ingredients. I currently play chemist in my bathroom and mix mine with a night serum.
Last but not least, the Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Cream is one of those simple and performing products that is always worth having in the bathroom cabinet. It soothes and moisturizes my skin at night after having been exposed to the sun and pollution. Brilliant affordable and natural cream!
What have been your favourites this month?
Next faves will certainly be Asia related. Summer holidays are just around the corner! Yayyyyy
