In My Travel Makeup Bag | What Did I Pack for Japan & Korea?

As you read these lines I should be landing in the home country of cherry blossoms, matcha lattes and Hello Kitty! Insert heart eyes emoji here!

I will be touring Japan and Korea for the upcoming weeks so packing my makeup bag was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to only bring with me the things that I thought I would really use. Also the humidity and the heat are so intense there at the moment that I had to pack my most sweat resistant makeup bits. If anything is missing or failing, I can always go makeup shopping ūüėČ

This is what’s in my travel makeup bag. Summer holidays edition!

IN MY MAKEUP BAG

I will be bringing two base products with me, Dior Forever Foundation and NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint, I can’t use just one base for weeks. I need options! The Dior is a proper long-wearing foundation with medium coverage that I know works very well on the heat, and the NARS has SPF30 and is a bit darker so it will suit me better when I’m more tanned. I actually enjoy using both mixed together too. To perfect the face a bit further, I’ll use Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer¬†(for discoloration and pimples) and By Terry Touche Expert¬†illuminating pen (for under the eyes).

My setting powder of choice is MAC x Chris Chang Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder and to give a bit of colour to the cheeks I’ve been loving the¬†Laura Mercier Rose Petal Second Skin Cheek Colour¬†and NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Sexual Content. The Laura Mercier is very petit so great for travelling and the NARS adds the most beautiful tawny colour and light to the cheeks. For bronzer, this Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer has been my favourite drugstore discovery of the year! Gorgeous bronzing powder! I look naturally tanned and glowy.

Now for the eyes. I should probably be more reasonable and bring less stuff but I love having all my favourite summery products with me. The NARS Pro-prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base comes everywhere with me because is just the best and my two favourite palettes of the moment are CHANEL Empreinte du Desert (link to review & swatches) and NARS Long Hot Summer (link to review & swatches). I also got the NARS eyeshadow duo in Madrague because the other two palettes were missing a good caramel and cream matte shades.

I should probably leave these two Paint Pots at home but I want to bring a ‘one product wonder’ with me in case I’m feeling lazy, which to be honest will probably be the case more often than not! My two faves are MAC Groundwork and Indianwood. These are very long-lasting products so great for the warmer weather! For eye liners, I’m obviously taking with me my holy grail CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Erable and Sable¬†and also to add some drama on a night out the¬†Revlon Skinny Liquid Liner in Mahogany¬†(link to review & swatches).

For the brows I bring just two things. My trusted Laura Mercier Eye Brow Pencil in Ash Blonde (the one and only shade that is my perfect match) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to keep everything in place for as long as possible.

Last but not least, I picked up the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara recently and I’m excited to give it a try! With the exception of Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes (which could run down my face with the humidity) all my current mascaras are a bit old, so I’ll be picking a new one up at the airport.
