I have a relatively small makeup bag that I carry with me everywhere. In there I always keep a mattifying powder and a powder brush, both from Japan, both tiny, performing and cute! I also have some plasters and ibuprofen, just in case. Everything else is lip products. The selection varies according to my preferences of the moment, the season, the occasion. Some are staples, some rotate.
This is what has been in there every day for the month of April!
Left to right (clockwise):
DHC Lip Cream – Best lip balm on the go. It really is moisturizing and smoothing on the lips. I have backups of this one.
Rimmel Lasting Finish in Asia 077 – The best neutral mauvey-pink of the drugstore. It has a satin finish with no shimmer and is very long lasting. Love, love, love.
NARS Satin Lipstick in Rosecliff – This lipstick is part or NARS Spring 2016 collection, hopefully they will make it permanent. Please NARS! My perfect nude for spring-summer.
CHANEL Rouge Coco in Julia 404 – This is one of my all time favourite lipsticks. It’s a creamy satin beige colour (maybe a shade that is not everybody’s cup of tea?). I personally adore it. It’s moisturizing, comfortable to wear and surprisingly long lasting for a non-matte lipstick. 100% recommend it for brunettes, nude and brown lipstick lovers in general.
MAC Lip Pencil in Subculture – This is the one I keep in my makeup bag because is very neutral on my lips. A good old pinky-peachy nude that works well as a base for all my lipsticks. This lip pencil is a bit hard but I haven’t found the same shade in a softer formula… the search continues.
YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil in I Rose You 4 – Glossy, non sticky, very hydrating lip oil that gives a rosy-pink tint to the lips. I use it by itself or on top of lipsticks instead of a lip gloss. This product was a pleasant surprise, no wonder it won the Allure Best of Beauty last year.
I am excited to switch things up a little bit for the upcoming month of May and my trip to New York. I have a couple of new additions that I can’t wait to wear during my Manhattan wanders! To be continued…
