April has arrived to an end and it’s time to gather together the bits and pieces that have got me excited all along the month.
This By Terry Soft-Buffer Foundation Brush made an appearance in my life thanks to a small but sweet Parisian Sephora Haul. It is basically the best thing I’ve found so far for applying foundation (forget sponges, fingers and what else!). It blends everything flawlessly and quickly, from very light watery foundations to the thickest BB cream. I am so in love with this thing!
Another brush that has become a solid favourite is DIOR’s Eyeshadow Brush #21. I absolutely love that it can pack eyeshadow all over the lid and also be precise enough for the crease or lining the lash line. Basically, I can do everything eye makeup related with this only brush.
Oh, this palette! If I could start my makeup collection all over again, this Laura Mercier ‘Extreme Neutrals’ Eye Shadow Palette is probably the only shadows I would need. A mix of matte, satin and shimmer, light, medium and dark shades, from vanilla, to brown, to purple. Lovely, wearable shades that blend easily and look beautiful.
I don’t know why it took me so long to finally pick up an Hourglass blush. Everyone and their cousins say they are wonderful and they truly are! The hype is real friends! Hourglass ‘Mood Exposure‘ has become one of my favourite blushes of all time (CHANEL blushes have some competition now). The formula is soft and luminous without being shimmery, and the colour would probably suit everyone as it’s a neutral pinky-plumy shade.
Last but not least in the makeup department is the CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof (Long Lasting Eyeliner) in Erable 919. These eyeliners are incredibly long lasting and depending on the colour they are more or less creamy (the matte shades seem to be more waxy). Erable is incredibly soft and the bronzey-brown colour with a touch of gold running through is absolutely beautiful. I will certainly keep repurchasing this one.
You will probably get tired of me talking about the Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30. It’s my favourite moisturizing SPF. I’ve been wearing it pretty much every day since I purchased it. Moisturizing, non irritating, and protecting from sun damage. You can check out the whole review here.
Face serums are some of my favourite skincare items. This Grown Alchemist Detox Serum Antioxidant +3 is extremely light (a runny water really) and stuffed with amazing ingredients. Some of them are: purified water, aloe vera extract, pro-vitamin B5, vitamin B3, glycerin, geranium oil, ylang ylang oil, lactic acid, among some other goodness. My skin looks glowy and healthy when I use this serum.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Magic lip balm has become a surprising favourite of mine. At the beginning I thought it was a bit small and the propolis scent a bit too strong, but after a couple of months using this product I’ve become totally addicted to it. The thing is, it really works! My lips have never felt better. They are soft and plumped. Every lip product looks good after using this lip balm. Apparently, there really is magic in that little pot!
LIFE CHANGING HAIR PRODUCT
I’ve been searching for a hair product that would tame my frizzy, voluminous and shapeless hair for the longest time! I basically spent the whole 90’s and early 2000’s ironing my hair, and then I didn’t know what to do with it! I wanted my hair to look put together but natural, hopefully shiny and wavy, without being too curly or too flat, well… Introduce here the wonderful Living Proof Satin Hair Serum. It does it all! It’s a miracle! And it doesn’t contain oils or silicons, it seems to be like proper skincare for the hair.
This month I visited New York City for the first time and it was truly amazing! The city was as wonderful as I hoped it would be. Easy to walk around, plenty of interesting architecture, beautiful parks and gardens, diverse and interesting people, tons of art and food. What else can you ask for?! Well… probably if it was less expensive it would be perfect 🙂
I highly recommend Wallpaper City Guides for interesting, stylish and alternative spots, and DK Eyewitness Travel Guides for a bit of history of the place, good maps, and overall good information about neighborhoods, museums and landmarks.
April was great, mainly because New York happened. I love travelling and exploring new and exciting places so much! It recharges me with plenty of good energy and life.
How was your April? Any favourites that stood out?
Happy May! X
